The Defense Intel Alumni Association at the behest of the Director was founded in 1998 by and for employees, retirees, and prospective retirees who have been associated with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
The purposes of DIAA Inc have been: …to keep members informed about DIA and world events....to inform members of the activities, special accomplishments and whereabouts of other members ...to provide educational services and information. ...to arrange special activities with DIA. ...to sponsor social activities to benefit the membership.
Each year, DIA opens its doors to us for an autumn homecoming. We meet with the Director and other senior staff as well as spend the day in the DIAC. We receive restricted briefings on world events, explore our interests through Q&A time and receive the latest information on where our agency is now focused.
DIAA Inc also holds general member luncheons three times a year with notable speakers. Recent speakers include the Principal Assistant Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Requirements (formerly the Deputy Director of DIA), and the Director of the CIA (formerly the Director, NSA). The luncheons and updates from DIA refresh our “situational awareness” now that we have left the agency. We meet at locations around the Washington DC area.
We host monthly Defense Intelligence Forums on topics of interest to DIAA members. We have also teamed with the Foreign Area Officers Association (FAOA) in hopes of providing activities that will be of interest to our combined members.
We need you to volunteer your ideas, time and abilities. Each of us has skills, expertise and experiences which would help the association expand its activities and membership. Tell other current and former DIA employees, military and civilian, about DIAA, Inc. and give us their names and addresses. You are DIAA, Inc. and your involvement is crucial to our success. With renewed friendships and increasing involvement, DIAA, Inc. will continue to flourish and move into the many directions its members desire.
Sincerely, The Board
